Waffles

We have obtained the best waffle recipe in the world!  About 5 weeks ago our great friends, Dan and Krystal Dobron, stayed with us for a weekend.  They generously surprised us by making the most amazing waffles for breakfast.  Ever since that day I have been looking for an occasion to whip up their recipe.  Since today was Alicia’s birthday, Chase and I decided that it was the perfect opportunity to grace our taste buds with these heavenly waffles.

We started by reading ,”The Family: A Proclamation to the World”.  It was interesting discussing this with Chase.  “Why did the prophets need to send out a letter to the world teaching that boys should marry girls?”, was the question Chase asked.  It seems like this is basic and obvious information, yet look at what has occurred over the last 10 years pertaining to gay marriage.  It is prophetic to read the last paragraph of the proclamation that warns that the disintegration of the family will bring upon the world the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.  With the increase of family abuse, divorce, pornography, fornication, and adultery, it is no wonder that there are wars and rumors of wars throughout the land, that the waters of the oceans are heaving themselves beyond their bounds, and that there are earthquakes and tornadoes in diverse places.  Anyway, it strengthens my belief and testimony that we have living prophets on the earth today that act as the voice of God.

After reading, we moved to the kitchen.  Chase was a little more interested in playing a new game that he had downloaded onto my iPhone.  Nonetheless, we still had a nice chat as we made the batter.  Chase was in charge of whipping the egg whites, adding in the softened butter, and making the syrup.  The end result was pure bliss!  We ate waffles for the next three mornings, and even invited Debbie and kids (aunt and cousins) over to help polish off our plates.

Chase and I can’t wait for it to warm up so that we can get outside for our next FatherMoments!  (It snowed today!)
